1 Eligibility Criteria for Applying the Netherlands Job Seeker Visa

You must meet any ONE of the following requirements in order to be eligible. Choose what situation applies to you.

  • Situation 1: 3 years ago, you conducted some research. You had permission to live in the Netherlands for research purposes.
  • Situation 2: 3 years ago, you completed a master’s degree in the framework of an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course.
  • Situation 3: 3 years ago you completed one of the following study programs:
  1. An accredited bachelor or master degree course at a Dutch higher education institution.
  2. Netherlands A postgraduate program for at least one year (at least 10 months).
  3. A program of a study in the Netherlands under Cultural Policy (Special-Purpose Funding) Act.
  4. The development cooperation policy of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so A study program in Netherlands.

Situation 4: You must have obtained a master’s degree, doctoral program or post-master from Designated Foreign Educational Institution.

Foreign students who graduated from a leading institution outside the Netherlands. A foreign educational institution designated is an education happening in the top 200 of at least two general rankings.

Your educational institution must have been in the top 200. The rankings that include your educational institution must come from at least 2 different publishers.

When You Can Apply?


3 years after the completion of your studies, you should apply. Like a Bachelor, Master or Ph.D program for instance.

Required Documents:


Take these documents on the day of appointment at the Dutch Embassy:
  • Completed Application Form
  • Passport and Photo
  • You have a valid passport or some other travel document.
  • Upon arrival in the Netherlands, you need to take a TB test.
  • You should be holding a bachelor or master degree from accredited university.
  • In some cases, you have to go with additional documents. These are enumerated in the application form.

Requirements to Obtain a Netherlands Job Seeker Visa?
